With funding from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, WestEd is exploring this question to inform efforts aimed at improving the quality and consistency of instructional materials in classrooms across the United States.

Exclusionary discipline practices have been found to be related to negative outcomes for students and disproportionately applied to particular groups of students, such as racial/ethnic minorities and students with disabilities.
